Gotcha!

Going to keep this short...Eme is in her crib just talking away instead of napping. We are not sure if she napped on the way to the hotel this morning. She had about a four hour car ride.

So, we have her! John is down the hall working on paperwork right now so we can keep her, lol!

I don't even know where to start! We went to the registration office so the other families could get their kiddos this morning. It was crazy watching families being made. Nothing like seeing a first time momma hold her child! Everyone was crying...most of the babies, the parents, the nannies and John and I who were just there to video and lend support.

On the way back to the hotel, Rita (our guide/CCAI rep) told us they were 40 minutes away. We rushed back to her room to sanitize the bottle we had bought for her last night and to switch hotel rooms - Rita was able to get us a bigger room since we had one of the smaller ones and it was hard to fit the crib. So then we just sat down and waited for the call. Rita called the other families so they could meet us in the lobby of our floor. The nannies were changing Eme's diaper downstairs and would then be up. We kept staring at the elevator....and staring. And then Rita came around the other way (I still don't know where she came from lol!) and was carrying Eme. We noticed right away that she had already had her lip repair done - we were shocked because we just didn't think it would have been done. I held Eme first and she just stared at us - and pulled my hair. When John held her she playing with his beard. No tears, no fussing. We have had her for a little over two hours and still no tears. The biggest surprise - other than her lip repair - is that she seems so much younger than she is. They said she was crawling, but it doesn't look like. She really can't sit on her own, and isn't eating solid food. We don't care, mind you, but for some reason it is hard to get in the baby "mind set" - I'm sure we'll be there before the day is over!

Thanks for the prayers! Please pray for us as we are trying new formula for her - they don't have her local brand here and we are struggling a bit trying to feed her with her cleft palate and a new formula.

Beyond Blessed! ~ Erin
